1.- DESCRIPTION:
With the arrival of the heat, it is quite common for our dogs to replace their beds with the floor tiles, placing themselves in a place in the house where the sun does not shine.
Our dogs do not tolerate heat very well.
High temperatures affect them more than us, since they practically lack sweat glands, they only have them on the pads of their paws and in their nose, and they have to regulate their body temperature by panting.
It is a good idea to change your usual bed for a cooler bed suitable for the heat, or also buy a good cooling blanket for dogs, we can use it alone, or put it on top of your bed.
Cooling blankets or mats for dogs will allow your dog to be much more comfortable during the hottest days, thanks to the cooling effect provided by their gel filling, which causes an endothermic reaction when compacted.
This means that when the dog lies on the blanket, its weight causes the molecules of the gel it contains to break, absorbing its body heat and dissipating it, which causes the body temperature of your furry dog to drop between 5 and 10º C.
One of the advantages of this type of cooling beds for dogs is that you will not have to do anything, it is not necessary to load them in any way, or cool them down so that they fulfill their function, although on the hottest days you can put them inside for a while from the fridge, for a more refreshing sensation.
The cooling effect is not permanent, as it absorbs your dog's body heat, after a few hours it will no longer cool, once your dog gets rid of it, the gel molecules will recompose themselves and after about 15 or 20 minutes approximately the mat will be ready to fulfill its function.
2.- HOW DOES THE COOLING BLANKET WORK?

On the hottest days we could put the blanket in the fridge for a while simply so that just lying on it has an even more refreshing sensation, although it is not necessary.
4.- ARE COOLING BLANKETS SAFE?
Cooling blankets are totally safe for our dogs, we just have to pay attention to the fact that the manufacturer specifies on the packaging that it is made with non-toxic gel, even so, it is better to be careful not to break or tear it because, even if it is not toxic, it is better that you do not ingest this type of product.
And the same happens with the outer fabric, the dyes used are not toxic but it is better to prevent it from biting.
5.- HOW LONG DOES THE COOLING EFFECT OF COOLING BLANKETS LAST?
For many hours.
Incredible as it may seem, this cooling blanket is an inexhaustible source of freshness for at least 3 or 4 hours.
From that moment on, it will stop cooling, but it is enough for our dog to get up so that the gel molecules begin to recompose themselves again and are ready for the next assault in about 10 or 20 minutes.
